A variety of soft tissue fillers provide an easy and quick way to help you reduce wrinkles, fill lines, and enhance facial contours including lips for a fresher and more youthful look. You and Dr. Bernard will decide together on the appropriate treatments to address your particular concerns.

Your Consultation and Treatment
- After your initial evaluation with Dr. Bernard, during which he will discuss details of the procedure and answer your questions, you can be treated right away. None of the soft tissue fillers that Dr. Bernard routinely uses requires pre-testing.
- The effects of treatment with soft tissue fillers are immediate. You will be able to see the benefits before you've even left Dr. Bernard's office.
- You can have your treatment during your lunch hour and go back to work, or back to your normal activities, immediately.
- Lip fullness often can be achieved using relatively small amounts of filler. Special short-acting numbing techniques are used to minimize any discomfort during the treatment. Both the upper and lower lip can be enhanced to achieve optimal aesthetic results.
- The amount of filler you will need in any single session depends on the areas to be treated and the depth of your lines and creases.
- You will need periodic repeat treatments to maintain your positive results.

Restylane®
Restylane® is a safe and natural soft tissue filler that diminishes facial wrinkles and folds, such as the deep lines or creases running from your nose to the corners of your mouth (called nasolabial folds). It is often used to treat marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth downward) and oral commissures (creases in the corners of the mouth) as well as other facial areas.
Restylane® is made from non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a substance that exists naturally in our bodies. In the skin, the job of hyaluronic acid is to provide fullness and elasticity. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually decreases, and this leads to an increased tendency toward wrinkles and folds. Restylane® helps restore a youthful appearance because it restores fullness to your skin. Because it contains no animal proteins, Restylane® requires no pre-testing before you can receive your first treatment.

Perlane®
Perlane® is manufactured by the same company that makes Restylane®. Like Restylane®, it is made from non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a substance that exists naturally in our bodies. However, Perlane® is comprised of somewhat larger gel particles and is designed to be injected more deeply into the skin. It may be used instead of, or in combination with, Restylane® to fill deeper lines and creases, or to add volume to facial contours.

Juvederm® injectable gel is a safe and natural soft tissue filler that diminishes facial wrinkles and folds. Juvederm® is particularly effective in treating "laugh lines," "smile lines" (nasolabial folds), or "marionette lines" (lines running from the corners of your mouth downward).

Radiesse®
Collagen is essential to the youthful appearance of skin, and its breakdown contributes to signs of facial aging such as skin laxity and loss of elasticity, diminished facial volume, and wrinkles. Radiesse® is comprised of calcium-based microspheres in a water-based gel that, like other soft tissue fillers, restores volume and reduces skin wrinkling while it builds new collagen. Radiesse® is used to treat smile lines, marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth downward), oral commissures (corners of the mouth) and the pre-jowl sulcus (areas on either side of the chin).
Dr. Bernard has used Radiesse® for a number of years and understands the specific technique required to achieve the best results with this product.
